ET 72 Within Mind, whether we call it supersubstance or super-matter, the primal fire, the unremitting light or the timeless present, are the Laws, Principles and Idea-Causes, of the Divine Meditation. Within the Ideas, the Holy Monads are expressed, to honour Total Wisdom, Total Power and Total Love.
i love this definition of the mind as primal fire, i think that modern human assumes the mind as a subordinate to the self, and merely a conjuring of the body. whereas i'd argue the mind is a metaphysical entity not just a brains circuits. if we had xray googles or any of the other electromagnetic frequencies im sure the (in face xray goggles wouldnt show much of the brain would they) brain would show a 'primal fire' or the dull grey lump we imagine would take on some 'super-matter' make-up.. to fellow materialists and behavourists i think were missing a trick!
and in fact i recently came up with an idea as a result of a debate over a materialist proposition:
could the brain not be taken apart and every electron replaced so that all the cells were essentially the same doing the same function their natural counterpart did? behaving identically,
the same person would exist..
except a few hours later when mulling it over, it occured to me that the mind is anti-matter. it is not just the physical components that are making the mind act, altough we can quantify the electrical charges and map out their desitnations and then make an idea of how the physicality of the mind makes sense. but until science recognises the spirit (old John's words, not mine) there will never be progress. so then lets wait till anti matters thought through a little longer. i read infact today in the economist magazine that we are starting to learn that the laws of physics change across space time. and il go get the artcle now actually as im sure any scientist who reads most of my words becomes a little infuriated...so titled @Ye cannae change the laws of physics (the economist september 4th 2010) it explains a little about the fine-structure constant and now i lost the original energy that made me write this, so if that interests you the economist website back dates most of their articles. new scientist probably goes over this in better detail. ANYWAY
